Collectors voice... Edvin Moses

I particularly love "Burning Cage" and it is the centerpiece of my
personal collection of Ealy's artwork that I display in my California home.
There is irony of a quite whimsical nature that Ealy inserts int all of his pieces.
The story behind the story that drives his creativity.

My interpretation of this backstory is the irony of one of the Aunt Jemima figurines
leaping fron the cahe that is obviously on fire.
Atleast we know that one of the figurines escaped!!

This reminds me of the oft quoted Harriet Tubman:

"I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew
they were slaves." - Harriet Tubman

From a purely aesthetic perspective I love the piece as I am
nearsighted and the rich background color falling somewhere between
Cyan and Azur is quite soothing and receptive to my vision.
As a physicist, one could say that the reflection of the shorter
wavelengths of the blue light resonates with my spirit and soul.

Being that my home is not too far from the Pacific Ocean, the piece
creates a summertime and demonstrable nautical atmosphere due to the
rich blue background. Ironically, Aunt Jemima the survivor will likely
survive as she moves from fire to water!

Collectors voice ...

Ealy Mays is a well known artist who has his regular collectors. Recently we have contacted a few of them and asked if they can give us their feedback on Ealy's artwork.
Today, we share our first Collector's voice - Mickela Moore.

"Pink Waiter" evokes the sense of the laissez faire flair of Paris, its elegance, with a touch of the clever and intellectual that make me smile each time I cast an eye on it.
It is Ealy. The colours in "Pink Waiter" pay tribute to these ideas.

[...]Mr. Armbruster was my high school History teacher. Every History class he wore a different polka-dotted shirt. One day, he wore black polka dots on a white background, another day - red polka dots, sometimes blue or yellow. One day he surprised us with an extremely colourful  polka-dotted shirt, combining all the colours possible. As a result, a classmate nicknamed him Mr. Pokadata. It inspired me to work on a series, named Pokadata. The polka-dots then became an expressive creation of both abstract and figurative style.
